Trip to Sarawak 9

These are some of the performances in the Sarawak Culture Village. Have a clue who is the guy above?? He is the one who took picture with me lo. He is just marvelous and capable to do superb stuns. He is like having some Chinese martial art background and use it on his culture performance. In the first photo, he used his teeth to carry up a roughly 5-6kg wood. In the second picture, this fellow had spin around 15 times with only a long thin bamboo stick underneath him. If you have a chance to see live show, then you will know how incredible it was.

This is another great performance that one must not miss. The guy is playing with one of the native haunting tools called 'sumpit'. You really need wonderful skills to aim it and shoot the 'sumpit' accurately. What make this performance interesting is, a foreign tourist had been called onto the stage to try on the 'sumpit'. Guess what??? Unexpectedly, the foreigner succeed in her first attempt and the audience were all shocked and a big round of applauses were given to her. BRAVO, BRAVO!!

Trip to Sarawak 8

Guess what?? I found a swing inside one of the long houses!! Very special rite?? Haha.. Therefore, Vincent and I have a try on it. Fortunately, it works!! We have great fun with the swing... Haha..

We get to know the natives in Sarawak believe in animisme. Anismisme is a believe by praying to the surrounding and environment. However, what is this?? I capture this photo in front the IBAN LONG HOUSE. Is this their ancestors grave (R.I.P) or a place to pray on?? I am not really sure. Hopefully, those who know it, can give me some ideas k...

Two local indigenous women are showing off thier skills. On the top is a lady doing KUIH JALA. Kuih jala is one of the famous local cookies which looks like web. Anyway, I had a small story to tell about this Ibanese woman who is preparing kuih jala. The women shouted 'MALAYU, CINA, INDIA, IBAN' when the money paid by my friend to buy her kuih jala slip off from her hand. We were shocked to hear what she shouted. Then, we try to have a small investigation about why she shouted so. At last, we get to know that actually most of the natives in Sarawak will shout 'MALAYU, CINA, INDIA, IBAN' when they droped something and it has become thier norm. Haha.. Funny rite?? The second picture shows a women was knitting 'songket' ( i guess so.. dunnoe what name is that piece of cloth :p)

The natives in Sarawak are also famous with thier head haunting activities. I came through a lot of such skull inside most of the long houses. I was anxious to know how they were able to keep and maintain the skull is such 'good condition'. Anyhow, I still not dare to touch it. Take pictures can dy la....

Trip to Sarawak 7

Long house is also an attraction that you must not miss when visiting Sarawak. Inside Sarawak Culture Village, different ethnics long houses are displayed. Besides that, description about their differences are also been explained. For those who have keen interest in architecture, this is a place where you can learn a lot about the natives' building structure.

Wow.. We were so fortunate to have the chance taking photo with an Ibanese native leh.... Actually he is one of the performers in Sarawak Culture Village... He can do a lot of great stun. Thats why most of us admired him. Wanna noe what stun he can do?? Keep up with the updates lo...

This is a place where the natives get heat inside the long house. Caol and firewood are burned in that place to produce heat. Try to imagine how cold it is inside a forest during night. Therefore, these place will keep the people to have a warm nice sleep. Nevertheless, with the technology today, we called this HEATHER. Hahaha..

Trip to Sarawak 6

Wa-cha!! Wanna fight?? Come la.. I accept the challange. Dont play play oo.. I have a multi-powerful Ibanese Shield. Who come who die... Haha...I really like the shield la. Unfortunately can see only but cant take home... :-(

Michael and Wan Zhen were having fun playing with the indigenous' grain processing tool. Actually it is very easy to use de. One just need to put some grains between two parts of the tool and then the grains will be processed when the tool is repeatly turn left and right. How come those indigenous people were so clever to know how to create such tool har..

Punishment time!! God bless those people that have been killed using this method. Hahahaha.... Nolar..... This thing is created not for the purpose of killing people. Michael and Jason just having fun trying to demonstrate how the indigenous people are been punished. I also dunnoe what is the actual usage of such thing. I think, most probably it is use for cooking and definitely not for slaugting human head.

Say cheers!! Hahahaha....Four dungus posing to the camera again.. Actually we are walking on a long bamboo stick. What amazing is, although only one thick bamboo was under our feet, but the bamboo din broke. It was tough enough to bare the weight of 20people. Incridible rite?? Haha..

微笑Pasta!!

OMG!! What is she doing??
Wan Zhen: You useless Cheng Ho!! Where you keep the treasure??! Tell me faster!! I choke you!! Choke you!!
Cheng Ho: (Cough).....Never!! You will never get to know where I hide it!! Kill me ba!! I am proud to die for my country!!
Wan Zhen: Errgh.......
*Ps: This is just an art work. It does not represent any person view or thing in the true world. :p

I do not have a chance to visit China yet.... So consider this as a substitute first k... Haha.. This ancient city entrance made me think of the story of Three Kingdom (my favourite ^.^). Guys, try to use your imagination... Feel it yourself!! A kingdom was collapsed when the city entrance door been taken down.... Blood everywhere.... billions of army... Wars.. Generals.. Wow!! I luv it!

Another special thingy I found at Friendship Park. Kuching represent cat city. Therefore, it is normal to see any cat statue there. However, this statue is different from others. Notice the difference?? Haha.. See yourself ba... ( I think they are making love) So romantic.... hehe..

Trip to Sarawak 3

Do you all know what is this?? On the left leh is Orang Utan. It symbolizes our beloved country- Malaysia. While on the right is Chinese Panda. Hehe.. Of course it means The Republic of China. Cute rite?? I also dunnoe who so clever designed such cute thingy. Hahaha.. Bravo!! Bravo!! You can find this bench at Friendship Park Kuching.

Besides that, one can also find stones carving pieces on 14 states of Malaysia in Friendship Park as shown above. For me, these stones carving are quite unique becuase you wouldnt see any of these back in Peninsula. The concepts used is exactly like the Islamic 'Batu Bersurat' found in Terrenganu.

Hey.. Now, only I know, Johore is the Southern Gem. It that true?? Everyone knew that Penang and Hong Kong are the Gem of the East (东方之珠). However, it this means Johore can be called the Southern Gem (南方之珠)??? Hahahaha...Weird la..

The Federal Territory!! The place where I was born and grow up. Michael too!! We are the KL-boyz... Haha... Melvin, dont be jelous oo!! You are not in the picture. The only way to solve the problem is you have to continue become your Negeri Sembilan boy lo.. Haha.. No offence..

Cheng Ho and Me. :-) But guys dont get confuse k.. I am not in Melacca. You can found Cheng Ho statue in Friendship Park, Kuching too.. Is that possible Cheng Ho came to Kuching before?? I have no ideal. Anyway, I can confirm that this statue was given by the Goverment of China to our country as a step to foster the international relationship.

Trip to Sarawak 2

This is another artistic shot from me. Taken from behind of a 'tongkang' that I ride. It shows a series of 'tongkang' waiting thier customers patiently nearby the Kuching Waterfront along Sungai Sarawak. If I send this photo to France sure win award de.. hahahaha...

Guys!! For those History savvy sure still remember Sarawak Steamship Co. Ltd rite?? I cross through this building at Kuching Waterfront. Unfortunately, I dint see any steamship there. Only a few 'tongkang'. Haha...

Haha.. Another piece of good photograph. A good snap of photo freezed a 'tongkang' passing by an under-construction building in front of Sungai Sarawak. Nice ma?? I heard this building is build by Tan Sri Taib Mahmud the Chief Miniter of Sarawak.. True or not?? Dunnoe lah..

This is ME!! Handsome rite??? :p Behind me is the entire city of Kuching. This photo is taken at Civic Center, the tallest buidling in Kuching.Anyway, not to worry if you are an agrophobia. I am afraid of height too.. But the tower is not very tall nia.. A good place for sight seeing but not worth it to waste much time there.

Vincent and I taking photo at Kubah National Park. Are we nature-lovers??? Neh... We arent. Just wanna experince the clean environment only. I wonder how old is the trees beside both of us??

Group photo at last!! These are the friends that make my trip to Sarawak a memorable ones.
From the top left: Vix, Jason, Joanne, Fui Eik, Leh Roo & Melvin
From bottom left: *ME!!*, Michael, Wan Zhen and Clayton.

SAM Public Exam Result

Early morning today around 5.45am, my hand phone rang. Wen Hoong called me and informed me that the result had been released. Actually I cant sleep well the whole night too by thinking of what result I might get this morning. ANU requires TER95. JPA wants TER80. I wanna all As. All my dream will be ruin and a nightmare might happen if I cant achieve all these. I cant sleep well since 3am. Rolling on my bed, my feelings at that moment is undescrible. Afraid, anxious, worried, excited... and everything.. just everything come to my heart. But I calm myself down and said that I had tried my best. I have to accept it no matter what the result is going to be. And here it is. I got TER97.75.

I am happy with it as my TER is over the par. Nevertheless, I have mix feelings too. I am not happy with my English as Second Language (ENL). I get a 16/20 which is a B. I had work so hard on my english for the past one and a half year. I wanna an A. Just a weak A is enough. However, what I got is B... B!! Haiz.. My SAM certificates now will certainly be 'cacat'. I know some people will ask me to be contented and happy with my result. It is not good to so called 'ask for more'. I know it is bad too.. But seriously, I just want an A for my ENL. I wanna to prove to my mom that my English has improve!

Anyway, it is my faith I think. Yalar, now is time for celebration. Just dont think too much dy.. I hope my ENL wont be an obstacles for me to get into ANU. Guys... wish me good luck to get the uni offer k..

Trip to Sarawak 1

Hey guys... You know what?? I went to Sarawak with my friends after the SAM public exam. It was my first experience to visit the largest state in Malaysia. After all, it was an enjoyable trip. For me, Sarawak is an interesting place to visit especially for those nature-lovers. Erm.. Before I forget, I would like to say thank you to Vincent. Without you as a tour guide, our trip wont be so successful. Thanks bro!! Okay la.. Stop all those nonsense opening. As the proverb says pictures speak a thousand words. Therefore, I think of doing an album about the trip to Sarawak in my blog. Stay tune the updates k. Haha..

This is Vincent and Me posing in front of the Sarawak Islamic Museum main entrance which located just opposite the Sarawak State Museum

You all can guess what are these?? These are the special post boxes rented by the aborigines to get thier mails. You know la, how hard it is for the post-man to get into all those 'ulu' places. You can get to see these at Kuching Old Post Office nearby Sarawak Waterfront.
*ps: Thanks to Clayton recememended this place to me.

Ops.. Forget to inform that am I the photographer in this Sarawak trip.Wanna know how pro I am in taking photos?? Haha.. This is one of my masterpiece. Full with artistic rite?? This old Briton-style window picture was taken at Kuching Old Post Office.
