Japanese Food in Canberra
Living here for around 2 months, I have tried a lot of Asian food. Japanese food are the most common one. In comparison to Malaysia's Japanese food, I think it have no difference. Aiyah, just taste the same lo. Nothing much. I rate Canberra Center's Sushi-Sushi as the best sushi in Canberra. While I give 5 stars to a small Japanese restaurant in Civic (forget its name dy) as having the most delicious bento and udon. ANU's Japanese Reataurant (Sizzle Cafe) and DFO Sushi Sushi are just moderate and on the par. Means normal lo. haha.... What a lame post... Aiyah.. I tired dy.. C Pics!!
Happy Easter Holiday!!
According to Christian scripture, Jesus was resurrected from the dead three days after his crucifixion. Many Christian denominations celebrate this resurrection on Easter Day. What interesting is that it is a public holiday in Australia!! Great rite? This Easter Holiday also means that my mid semester holiday had started. At last, I have a two weeks break! What a relief! On Good Friday, we, a bunch of '1st Year Malaysian student in Fenner Hall had make a Malaysian style steamboats. Most of the shabu shabu ingredients are bought from Asian grocery shop in Dickson. The food was moderate, but what really enjoyable was the atmosphere.Everyone gathered around and have a chat and laughter together. A word to describe it-FUN!! Haha... Here are some photos.

EARTH HOUR 2009
The world celebrate Earth Hour on 28th of February every year. The objective of the event is to educate people on saving electricity for the sustainable development of future. Canberra once again had been named as the most supportive state in Australia for this particular event.Around 60% of the Canberra's residents turned off their lights for one hour from 8.30pm till 9.30pm. The whole city was in dark. I took this opportunity to experience this significant and meaningful event. These photos are taken in ANU during Earth Hour. Enjoyed it!! Real fun...^.^
Free Dinner!! BBQ provide by ANU...
Look at the crowd waiting for the BBQ.
(Sorry guys, you all cant taste it!!! Yummy, so delicious!!)
Brazilian samba group came to join us as well. Besides, ANU School of Music also performed and showed their skills on that day.

Hey sorry guys!! Let you all waiting for my post. So paiseh. Really not much time to update my blog cause I still in the situation try to settle myself in Aussie.
First and foremost, thanks everyone for being so concern about my life in Australia. I am great here. Let me talk about my experience here. I have lots of story to tell.
University
ANU!!! I being enrolled to a university that ranked 16 in the world!! How lucky I am. Nevertheless, help, help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What I can say about it, is that everything is just hard, hard and damn hard!! Can you imagine how one can survive in a community that is surrounded my smarties from all around the world?? Moreover, I am taking ACTUARIAL STUDIES! ( the course that are rated one of the toughest course in ANU)
Lecturers are like bullet trains. When I still digesting some information then new information come in. In one hour lecture, what I learn is like stuff I learn one month in Malaysia. (seriously!!) Anyway, no doubt that, lecturers here are pros! Sometimes I just admire them.
Lets talk how students survive here. Are they really smart and brilliant compare to me?? Not really as they got the same marks as I did to enroll in this uni. But just how come I dont have the x-factor that make me look outstanding as they are?? In lecture, they ask questions that I never will think of it. They can do assignment like a piece of cakes. But what I did is sketching my head to think about how to solve the questions.
Furthermore our is like all others top uni in the world. They will grade students according to the distribution. (bell shape). This means, let say if I get 85/100 yet I still have a high chance to get only a Distinction. I dont want!! I dont want this!! I want a HIGH DISTINCTION!! I want a High D. Instead just a D. Ops forget to mention, our uni gt 4 grading only.

LIFE in Canberra
Life in Canberra is interesting!! Canberra Center is just minutes of walks from my hostel. For me, Canberra Center is a shopping heaven!! All sorts of fashion are available. Guess, French Connection, bla bla bla bla.. All branded lo.. Really a nice play to go shopping. Some more, there has Supabarn where I usually do my weekly grocery shopping there. Haha... Besides that, there is a very huge Direct Factory Outlet(DFO) in Canberra. It is located at Fsywhick (20 minutes of bus from city). Clothes there are priced reasonably. What interesting is that, there have Calvin Klien in a great discount!! Nice leh...??
Canberra also have lots and lots of great event. Big cities like Sydney and Melbourne are too complicated and crowded. It is hard to hold any grand events there. Unlike Canberra, which is small and happening. Everything just look nice and great here. Still remember during the Canberra Day last month, I am fortunate enough to watch Hot Air Ballons. It is really a life time experince!! Really worth it for me to wake up as early as 5am and walk to Commanwealth Park to watch it. Last weekend, Canberra had sky fire too. The sky fire is more beautiful than last time I watch in Putrajaya! What interesting is that, 130,000 people turn up in the sky fire. The crowd was just too lively and happy. I really like the atmosphere like this, which I cant have a chance to experience it in Malaysia. (PS. Sorry guys, pictures are not sorted yet. :P)
FOOD
The food here is so damn expensive!! I need roughly AUD10 to buy a meal. Yvonne, you are rite~~ Overseas bread really taste good compare to Malaysia's!! Australian love bread. Most of their meals are either sandwiches or pasta. For nasty eater like me. I cant bare with the food. Nevertheless, I had tried SUBWAYS twice here. they did taste better compare to Malaysia's SUBWAY. I like Bacon and Ham Subs!! Furthermore, I have tried a lot of food here. China food (taste weird, but good), Japan food (as usual bento and sushi), Malaysian food (home sweet home) and etc..... Haha..
I will keep you all update soon... ^.^
